Buying TEXTBOOKS SUCK WHHY WHY DO YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR BOOKS THAT YOU ONLY READ A COUPLE PAGES FROM SOMETIMES YOU DON'T EVEN USE THEM AND WHY CANT i BACKSPACE AFTER I ENTER ANYWAYS FOR CLASSES THAT DON'T NEED BOOKS THIS IS JUST A WAY TO GET MORE MONEY OR SOMETHIN MAN ALL THE BOOKS ARE SOLD OUT BEFORE SCHOOL EVEN STARTS AND EVEN ON SITES ONLINE THEY'RE EITHER BACKORDERED OR ARRIVE LIKE 5 YEARS AFTER BUYING THEM. I'M TELLIN YOU THAT THERE ARE A BUNCH OF CLASSES THAT COULD AFFORD TO PUT UP SOME PAGES ONLINE FOR US TO READ INSTEAD OF HAVING TO SHELL OUT $150+ JUST TO READ A SENTENCE.
lmaozersI never order textbooks until the prof. says it's required.
sometimes I buy the old edition if we're not pulling h/w problems from the text
desu it drives me up the wall when we pull h/w questions from the text because then my cheap ass can't get away with reading from the 5th edition instead of the 6th.digital scans are a blessing. professors who assign textbooks which are free online are a godsend. >>7360>TOTALLY DIFFERENT SECTIONSthis shit is bonkers too
ALL OF THEM SAID TO BUY A TEXTBOOK FML ITS BETTER THAN DIGITAL THEY SAID YADA YADA whatever I'll shut up.
>>7359 thats one thing too the textbook manufacturers decided that one edition wasn't enough and had to add a new edition every blue moon with TOTALLY DIFFERENT SECTIONS FROM THE LAST SO YOU HAVE TO BUY IT NEVERTHELESS. Its a scam D:
how do you even backspace on this place too what the heck I don't understand
>>7361
>>7362 is this how you comment
hahahahahhaha lmao how are textbook prices even a problem just download them like go to libgen.io lmaoI can't believe you basedboys are actually paying for textbooksi shiggy diggy
>>7386 who says "shiggy diggy" anyways
My Stats textbook would've cost $150 if I bought it off amazon but I got it for free from libgen
>>7395 NANI
books are cheap if you pirate themI can only justify it because textbook companies are pretty much milking stores for money anyway>Textbook company produces a book>Sell to bookstore for $50>Bookstore marks up to $80>Sells for $30 profitThe real trick is:>when the bookstore buys your book back for $10>Sell for $80>70$ profitThis is why textbook companies produce 8 or 9 versions of a textbook; the company only makes margin on the first sale; the bookstore really profits from the 2nd, 3rd, 4th sale and so onSo just keep changing the chapters / problems such that you need to make that first sale again and again; if you don't have the current version you'll be behind
>That glorious feel of being in lit classesTextbooks are all novels you can buy off Abebooks for $4. Or just rent them from the library for the whole semester.
>>7358 i rent textbooks as often as i can
Use the library; scan a book in the book scanner, read it later on your phone/laptop/tablet at your own pace.
