What is the best coffee shop/cafe on or near campus? My vote goes to Liquid State on Hillsborough, or maybe the Crepe place. Discuss?

Global Village Organic is nice, the coffee is in little glass cups that you put in a little washing bin when you're done
Cup-a-joe in the avent ferry complex is really good too; I only found that out this week so I'll be back for sure

I've never been to Liquid State. The "Coffee + Wine + Beer" sign really interests me though

Any where on campus for a good milkshake? The creamery's is good but it's really expensive for the size.

Not really sure, but I feel like the creamery is one of the only places on campus that sells milkshakes.
>>4192
ah, I forgot to say that the port city java isn't half bad; there's one in every little corner of campus and the coffee is good and remarkably cheap if yoy don't get anything sweet . Not that you should ever get a sweet coffee (please just drink a soda instead), but just know that the black coffee is good

I like tea. My favorite is Russian but I'm a sucker for oolong as well. My experience with Chinese tea is limited to a few funny blends I picked up in the asian market and "Special Grade Temple of Heaven Gunpowder" which is very earthy, which is a polite way to say it's way too strong no matter how long it's brewed

For a hot second I thought you were talking about this store called Teavana. I'm not sure if they're very related; I feel like they are not, because I bought white tea there, and I think the Teavana(tm) brand doesn't sell leaves
>> No.4272
>>4270 Gunpowder should be brewed at liek 180 farenheits or less, for liek 1.5 minutes...any longer and you will taste the bads

yes teavana....the shite store that sells tea at 4-5 times the rate you can get at a chineez market. the same store that puts random garbage in its tea to make it look pretty and to add cheap weight to the tea to increase profit margins

The chinese stuff you get in the cute little tins are far better than teavana's but you don't risk lead poisoning
as bad
at a western market

Ah, do you all care if any of the leaves get in your cup? What about small things like stems? I don't really mind for my own cup but it would seem rude to offer a cup that's not perfect to someone else
>> No.4278
a lot (most?) of teavannas stoof comes from china...but thats probably ok cuz most of the worlds tea is grown in china and india and taiwan

actually some groups of ppl drink so much tea that they get skeletal fluorosis (correlation and causation?)
