How is everyone in the town of Hoalin doing in these most unholy of weeks? Finals coming up, papers to do, projects to finish (all by oneself). Are you gonna make it?
made a 60 on my first final, so it's off to a great start :)finished the class with an 85 average though, so all is well

This is the second to last week of my co-op. I'm done next friday and I can enjoy break and going back to school. I was not fucking ready for the real world and am more than happy to go back to an absurdly busy course schedule
got interrupted today while at Hill by the emergency alarm :/ In general I think I'm doing okay-- I'm on edge and anxious about a couple courses, but I am also like, dealing with them. So it's easy to reassure myself with the fact that I'm doing what I can. I got sick this week, which sucks. But every day passes and we get a new chance at attacking our problems with every morning. Onwards!
I am going to melt away tomorrow because all my (school) responsibility will be evaporated.
This is the first December in very many years that I've not had exams to worry about. It doesn't seem like the year can really end without exams. I only just today got around to getting eggnog, the winter season just isn't declaring itself as obviously.
Ah fuck I just uploaded the Test 4 grades for my class and they were bad. Even after giving them a 7 point curve they're still hitting me with all the panic emails.
I just spent 10 hours or something working on my senior design project... it's all ready but I am not (mentally) ready to get up in less than 4 hours and present it though!pic related: me, drowning in workActually I was working in the lab all day... this is a little earlier in the semesterI snuck a hard seltzer in the lab in order to achieve the ballmer curve; mission accomplished! it passes all my tests (although my team didn't help with that) w/e, team projects mostly devolve into solo projects when we have to actually get something done at least in my experience
>>10335The first rule is to always report to the class summary statistics of the test grades (median/mean and then if you're fancy throw in quartiles). The second rule is to curve final grades. These are the things which help stop the seeds of panic from being sown among the sorry masses.
>>10337I did these things and yet the masses still revoltedMaybe they should just know the material better
>>10338>be me>teach class impossible to fail>let everyone make up everything and hand-wave attendance>people still panic about grades>"Guys, you did fine; it's only X percent of your grade calm down.">they do not calm down>only 2-3 students across two classes are even considering the minorliterally who cares, why don't you stress about somethign important or hard?
