Bodyweight exercises are actually pretty good, you can get started with squats, pushups, dips, etc. and whenever you feel like doing a ton of them is too easy, then you can see if you feel more comf at the gym. If not, a few dumbbells of good sizes can go a long way. We're all gonna make it.
